Premiere Screening of Night at the Museum 3: Secret of The Tomb (2014)

Thanks to KLIPS I got an opportunity to join the premiere screening of the The Night at the Museum: Secret of The Tomb last week. The Night at the Museum: Secret of The Tomb is an American comedy movie full of funny twists. It is the third sequel of the Night at the Museum (2009).

The film is directed by Shawn Levy and written by David Guion and Michael Handelman, stars Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Dan Stevens and Ben Kingsley. The storyline is as follows.

When the exhibits at New York's Natural History Museum start behaving strangely, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) -- now the director of nighttime operations -- must find out the cause. He learns that the Tablet, which magically brings Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and the other exhibits to life at night, has started to decay. Larry, along with his son and museum friends, must travel to London's British Museum to learn how to prevent the Tablet's magic from disappearing.

Of course the storyline is bit absurd, since such scenarios are not possible. Nevertheless the 90 minutes spend watching it does not agree so.
Larry’s character seemed to reach a much maturity level as in this one he has to help his adolescent son to decide what he wants to do with his life. And of course you get a chance to see Robin Williams as Theodore Roosevelt.  The other characters as well do a pretty good job as the characters are pleasantly portrayed.

It’s not a very complicated storyline and the cast also seemed to have delivered a good performance. Especially the ending is bit touchy and more emotional than the previous two movies. The Night at the Museum: Secret of The Tomb gives a hint that this is the last of the trilogy, but who knows they might come up with a new one with a twist.

If you want to have some movie time with some clean fun without the interference of vulgar language try this The Night at the Museum: Secret of The Tomb. And you will be surprised to find Hugh Jackman as well :P

Premiere Screening of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)

Storyline:

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor tohoard it as Bilbo's frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide - unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies presents the story prior to The Lord of the Rings and makes a very clear connection between the two stories. The ending especially of this story is a great cinematographic effort.

If you had doubts about the other two previous instalments, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies provides most of the answers. Although the storyline is pretty tight and serious it does carry some light moments of humour.

Kili’s death and the scene of Tauriel holding his body is such an emotional. And the way Saruman strongly saying that there will be another encounter with Sauron will give you goosebumps. Also the scenes of Bilbo trying to hide the truth about the ring is pretty funny as we have already know what happened in The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Bilbo, Gandalf, Legolas, Tauriel, Thorin, Bard the Bowman to the smallest character are given a moment to shine, so the whole movie is so full of life and colour.
Make sure you will catch up with this amazing movie experience of a life time. Guaranteed you will have a remarkable time.

Premiere Screening of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014)

Storyline:

The story follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life-a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he's not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn't had one.

Beginning to the end it is a painfully hilarious story that narrates a simple day to day life and how things can go wrong. It reveals the characteristics of highly positive minded family members who only see the best in everything opposite to Alexander who finds every day is a struggle. To make things worse his family ignores the difficulties he goes through.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a pleasant comedy that is in its simplest form. There is so much of humour derived from the day today shenanigans throughout this 80 minute movie. Though it focuses on the entertaining aspect of this family drama it does brings out the good morals a family should uphold.
The father’s character by Steve Carrell is really charming as he brings in his usual charismatic personality. His character is amazingly optimistic putting even our best days into shame. Even during his worst day his presentation of frustration is just too good.

Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is a family movie that everyone can have a great entertaining time together. Thanks to Nuffnag for providing the chance to catch up the premiere screening.
